Happy to report that not counting my DNFs (“Did Not Finish” … life’s too short to waste on something I am not enjoying), I am well on my way to my 2024 goal of reading 60 books this year with 10 already checked off at the end of February. Technically I’m at 11, but I’m too embarrassed to say that I actually read SAY YOU SWEAR by Megan Brandy in its entirety.
Here are my ratings from the 10 books I’m willing to admit—starting with my least favorite, sliding down to the ones that will stick with me for a long time:
⭐️⭐️
FINDING TOMORROW by Denise Grover Swank and Christine Gael. Clean and sweet. Not for me 😆
⭐️⭐️⭐️
ALL RHODES LEAD HERE by Mariana Zapata. Too much of the romantic element of relationship happened off page, which left questioning their chemistry as a couple.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WORST WINGMAN EVER by Abby Jimenez. Meet-cute as adorable as a box of kittens. Abby Jimenez is at her finest. This one is a quick read, coming in at ~130 pages.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
FROZEN RIVER by Ariel Lawhon. Historical mystery fiction about a midwife in 1789 in Maine. Martha Ballard is going to be with me for a long time.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
THINGS WE LEFT BEHIND by Lucy Score. Third and final in Knockemout series and probably my favorite. Light, fun, spicy.
FLAWLESS by Elsie Silver (Chestnut Springs #1). Beautiful lawyer has to wrangle a cowboy to play by the rules and not get into trouble. Need I say more.
MOTHER-DAUGHTER MURDER NIGHT by Nina Simon. Very fun listen. Grandmother was my favorite character - smart, insightful business woman with a sharp tongue. Hmmm…I think I am related to her.
I THOUGHT I KNEW by Me! Read, edited, re-read and re-edited again, and again…Highly recommend!🌻
FOURTH WING by Rebecca Yarros. It lived up to exactly how it was pitched to me - “A sex’d up Harry Potter!” Such a great story. I highly recommend listening to it on audible. Some of the scenes are so fast paced I don’t think I could have read as fast and would have lost some of the effect. So good! That end—ugh! 🐉
THE WOMEN by Kristin Hannah. GO READ THIS BOOK!!!🚁
March is National Reading Month. What’s on your list?
